REV. FR. RYAN FERNANDES.

 

Fr. Ryan Fernandes is our parish priest.

He was born on the 23rd of May 1952 in Santa Cruz, Mumbai, where he studied at Mithibhai College for two years and graduated from National College, Bandra. He has a BA in Psychology and is also trained in counselling.

 Fr. Ryan was ordained on the 12th of April 1980. He has been a priest for 29 years.

 He is young at heart and likes working with the youth and is available for confessions any time. He also works with the CLC i.e. Christian Life Communities.

St. Vincent de Paul is Fr. Ryan’s fifth parish.

He was in the Diocesan Pastoral Centre for five years training the catechists.

He was assigned Mount Carmel’s, Bandra, as his 1st parish followed by St. Stephen's, St. Pius, St Joseph, CBD Belapur.

Fr. Ryan says that the youth are our future and his message to them is: " START GETTING INVOLVED".


 


FR.VINCENT BARBOZA

   Born on the 22nd of February 1966, Fr. Vincent Barboza has been a priest for 6 years.

Fr. Vincent Barboza was ordained on the 17th of April 2004. He worked in the Gulf before joining the seminary. After 8 years in the seminary, Fr. Vincent was appointed to St. Vincent de Paul as his first parish.

   He was born and brought up in Borivli, Mumbai. His parents are originally from Mangalore and his home parish was John Bosco.  He deals with people from  ‘breakaway groups’ i.e. those who have left the Church, or have converted to another religion and tries to get them to come back to the Church. He also deals with various problems faced by  families and helps to solve  them.

 

     Fr. Vincent Barboza has  authored two books:

1. Catholic Answers to Christian Fundamentalists Questions

2. Why Are You Still a Catholic?

 

     He also gives talks and conducts sessions and missions on these topics here in Mumbai as well as across the country and abroad.

FR. K.T. EMMANUEL

 

Fr. K.T. Emmanuel is a Mumbai boy, born on the 7th of April 1969 and brought up in Vikhroli . He studied in St. George School, Malad and graduated from D.T.S.S. College of Commerce.

  After completing his graduation, Fr. Emmanuel worked as a teacher for two years.

He then joined the Seminary for eight years

  Fr. K.T. Emmanuel was ordained on the 6th of April 2002 and  has been a priest for seven

years now. He has done his Masters in Canon law at Bangalore.

St. Vincent de Paul is the second parish that he has been assigned to. He is a priest in residence here at St Vincent de Paul  He is associated with the Marriage Tribunal near Mount Mary’s where he deals with the annulments of wedded couples.

Fr. K.T. Emmanuel is health-conscious and works out regularly; he likes to read and listen to all kinds of music in his free time.

He is a people's person, loves their company especially that of  children and the youth.

He is much appreciated for his homilies and for the knowledge of the Word of God.
